Upright Piano Cabinet Styles: 1930s-1960s Period

Many Piano factories closed due to saturation of the market, including many famous makers. A few survived, and produced budget quality models. 'Art Deco' styles flourished, and after the 2nd World War, many Victorian & Edwardian pianos were converted to Pseudo 'Art Deco' models with the loss of the original styles, in various piano workshops throughout the country. Although the manufacturing industry was still in poor shape, the birth of a new type of piano was beginning - the contemporary-styled small 'modern' piano - to suit rooms where space was at a premium.
