Meet our Team of Piano Experts

David

David is the founder and Managing Director of Courtney Pianos. He started the business in 1977 and has remained at the helm ever since. He has a wealth of experience and has particular responsibility for the precise regulation and fine tuning of all the pianos which leave the workshop. Known affectionately in the trade as ‘Mr Bechstein’ he loves working on pianos emanating from the Bechstein factory. He was born with perfect pitch and has been tuning pianos since he was 20.

Adrian

Adrian, from Bradfield Pianos, has been in the piano restoration business for over 30 years and works on a part-time sub contract basis with Courtney Pianos as an expert action and keyboard restorer.

Simon

Simon, from Hamblin Pianos, has known David for over 40 years, and works part of the time on a sub contract basis with Courtney Pianos. His main area of expertise is in soundboard restoration and the subsequent re-stringing of pianos. He is also an excellent piano tuner.

Nick

Nick works part-time for Courtney Pianos, assisting with the delivery of pianos in the local area. He helps with the re-assembly of the restored pianos and is the person responsible for the lovely shiny finishes on the brasswork, such as the pedals and candle sconces where fitted.

Caroline

Caroline is the firm’s administrator and bookkeeper and ensures the business runs smoothly.
